PANAJACHEL

The town of Panajachel (known locally as ‘Pana’ – 20-min drive) is the central hub of Lake Atitlan as it has the main road access. It is a small town that has a central tourist area comprising of the street Calle Santander running from the centre down to the lakeshore, and the ‘Zona Viva’, where the majority of bars, clubs, banks, and restaurants are.

Pana is a bustling town with everything you might need from banks to supermarkets, restaurants and cafes, hardware stores and hairdressers. From Pana there is a boat dock with public boats (lanchas) to all the villages around Lake Atitlan.
