Casita Contenta is a fully furnished studio with a fully equipped kitchen. All utilities are included except for drinking water and gas (stove and hot water), but the first bottles are complimentary.

It has a shared entrance with a small cottage next door, but has its own private patio area at the entrance. It looks out onto lush greenery and flowers! The main, open-plan room with a King-size bed has a fully equipped kitchen area at the end with a bathroom with gas hot water shower just off this.

The perfect rental for someone looking for some ‘home-from-home’ comforts, a bit of outside space, in the centre of Pana, and on a very secure and picturesque property.

It is a minutes walk to the main street of Pana, Calle Santander, 5 mins to the main dock to the North shore of the Lake, 5 mins from La Torre Supermarket, and about a 10-15 min walk up to the the main area where the grocery stores are and the main local market. Tuk tuks can be found right outside the door.

Pana is the main town on Lake Atitlan and the commercial centre and transport hub for the whole Lake Area. It is filled with cafes, restaurants, bars, stores, supermarkets, banks, everything you might need, and accessible to all other villages around the Lake either by private vehicle, boat, bus, pick up, or tuk tuk.

Panajachel (Pana)

The town of Pana is the central hub of Lake Atitlan as it has the main road access. It is a small town that has a central tourist area comprising of the street Calle Santander running from the centre down to the lakeshore, and the ‘Zona Viva’, where the majority of bars, clubs, banks, and restaurants are.

Panajachel was believed to be founded around same time as Sololá and Santiago Atitlan, in 1547. The name comes from the Cakchiquel (one of the Mayan languages used around the Lake) meaning ‘place of cane and doctors’ (but not the certified kind of doctor!). Another explanation is that it refers to the fertility and abundance in plant life here, thanks to the rich volcanic soil.
